Welcome to Alan Murray Photography.
I am a freelance photographer based on the edge of the Trossachs in central Scotland with over 20 years experience photographing news, sport events, public relations and political visits.
Many of my images have been published in a variety of formats at local and national level including the web.
Taken on film and digital, in colour and black and white, using Nikon and other formats.
At the sports stadium, a news event or covering political elections, photography is still about capturing a moment in time. Despite all the technology at our disposal we still choose when to press the shutter.
On a personal level landscape and horticultural photography offer a subjective and almost poetic interpretation of a subject. Inspiration comes in many ways somewhere between the light and shadow, colour and expanse. The truth is some beautiful images never leave our hearts and minds. Elements such as texture and form take over from the science.
